I was in an Accident, and I’m Worried About My Medical Bills
If you’re involved in a motor vehicle accident in New York State, the one thing you shouldn’t worry about, at least initially, is your medical bills. No-fault insurance, which is a portion of every policy in New York State, provides for medical expenses to be paid, and that is the car that you are in, or that struck you as a pedestrian, will pay those no-fault benefits.
Any doctor you go to who accepts you as a patient as a motor vehicle victim is required to accept the no-fault rates that they’re paid – for a given procedure, given treatment. And there’s no co-pay, so you should not have to reach into your pocket for any dollar in a no-fault case – at least while no-fault benefits are still flowing.
